Discover the new way of using public transit! Practical, smart and secure
Your OPUS smart card will be a part of your daily bus, métro and commuter train travel throughout the Greater Montreal area. Regardless of where you are travelling to, you only need your OPUS card.
You can recharge your card with various transit fares, according to your needs. For example, you could charge it with six STM tickets, eight STL bus tickets and an AMT zone 3 TRAM pass.
You are entitled to the reduced or intermediate fare?
OPUS replaces the student ID card giving access to reduced and intermediate fares. Thus, the same card holds your valid transit fares, photo ID and fare privileges.
You only use public transit once in a while?
As OPUS can be charged with tickets, you can still acquire a smart card and enjoy all of its advantages.
You can also purchase single fares from local public transit partner companies.
Transit users can always pay the regular full fare in cash aboard buses (exact amount only) and to fare collectors in the métro.
OPUS is getting bigger and better !
Don’t risk running out of STM tickets ! Your OPUS card can now hold up to 4 strips of six or ten single fares, and up to 40 STM single tickets.
Better yet, you no longer have to use up all of your tickets before recharging your card. OPUS gives you the versatility you need to fill it up when you need !
You never use STM transit services ? Consult the website of your local transit provider for more details about single fares.
- STM - Société de transport de Montréal
- STL - Société de transport de Laval
- RTL - Réseau de transport de Longueuil
- AMT - Agence métropolitaine de transport
- ACIT - L'Association des conseils intermunicipaux de transport
Single fares for occasional use allow you to travel on that public transit system only.
If you wish to acquire STM and RTL single fares, for example, you must purchase them directly from these transit companies.
